Such is people’s thirst for technology that often they forgot what all the fuss was about after a couple of weeks of having a new device.Everything from electric door bells to home computers were readily embraced in the hope they would make people’s lives easier and give people more free time. To large extent this is true. Items like washing machines and vacuum cleaners have revolutionized the way we live, but they have always had one floor in that they are wired into your home and so limit your freedom.
Anyone who has tried to mow the lawn with an electric mower will understand just how difficult it can be to set up a cable long enough to stretch around the whole garden, and how difficult it is to avoid running over the cable with the mower. We have always been chained either to one part of the house or to the house itself, but this is all changing with the freedom that wireless technology gifts us.
Previously, if you wanted to listen to music in your home you would have to sit in the room with the stereo, or buy one for each room. Nowadays you can have one central unit and wireless speakers in each room allowing you to hear your tunes wherever you wonder. Wireless internet means you can roam your house freely on your laptop and you can even buy a wireless alarm clock which connects to your stereo wirelessly and blasts out your favorite ABBA song (or whatever you like) to wake you up in the morning.
Wireless technology can now be found in every corner of people’s homes these days, from wireless light controls and DVD players to wireless-controlled radiators and telephones. The level of freedom provided by these technologies will continue to increase in future, with a predicted 75% of technology in homes being wireless by the year 2025.
