Nicki Minaj started her profession in 2004 singing background vocals and hooks for native rappers. She was found on MySpace by Dirty Cash CEO Fendi, who signed her to that label. In an interview with VladTV.com, Minaj also mentioned Natasha Bedingfield as a musical favourite, and Jada Pinkett Smith as a major affect on her need to be an actress. She is influenced by the unpredictable rhymes of Missy Elliot together with the sexually charged attitudes of Lil’ Kim and Cunning Brown.
In an interview with Vibe, Minaj was requested what sort of affect Lil Wayne has had on her profession, to which she answered, “Wayne has at all times been my greatest influence… I all the time say that that is what I discovered from Wayne the most; he by no means stops grinding. It confirmed me, Yo, this dude is the truth, and I’m going to follow in his footsteps.”
