What should i listen to?
ive run out of songs to listen. i love any genre of rock pretty much; my favorite bands are Black Veil Brides & My Chemical Romance. i like country but not the pop-ish country like Taylor Swift, more like the older country style from its beginnings to the early 2000s. i like the 60s & 50s rock, pop, & r&b, but not the r&b & pop from today except P!nk & Katy Perry. I hate most all rap, so dont suggest any of that to me. I like Classical music too, but im looking more for music with singers & not just instrumental. Thank You.

Office Space: The Motion Picture Soundtrack $4.73 Ice Cube’s “Down for Whatever” is the highlight on Office Space’s soundtrack, a classy West Coast production with just the right proportions of laid-back groove and simmering tension. Scarface turns in a credible enough track (“No Tears”), and the Geto Boys’ impersonation of Bill Clinton at the end of “Damn It Feels Good to Be a Gangsta” is funny, though not terribly accurate. But Canibus and Biz … |

The Vibe History of Hip Hop $27.50 In his introduction, founding Vibe editor Alan Light justifies the magazine’s 300-page hip-hop chronicle in historical terms, noting that while less than 15 years passed between Elvis’s first single and Woodstock, it’s been two full decades since rap busted out of New York City street parties via the Sugar Hill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight.” It’s a righteous point, and the multi-author Vibe History in… |

Hip Hop America $8.81 Although it’s been part of the cultural soundscape for over 25 years, hip-hop has been the focus of very few books. And when those books do pop up, they tend to be either overtly scholarly, as if the writer in question has just landed on some alien planet, or a bit too much like a fanzine. If there’s anyone qualified to write a solid, informative, and entertaining tome on the culture, politic… |
