Christmas carols on L.A. radio…why are they needed???…?
To me, traditional Christmas music here in L.A. does NOT involve singing about horse-drawn sleighs in the snow…especially when it HASN’T snowed here in 52 YEARS!!!…or chestnuts roasting over an open fire, when we’ve had brush fires that killed innocent firefighters, and not every house has a chimney!
Please tailor these songs to benefit the L.A. holiday scenes, like the Capitol Records Building in Hollywood adorned w/ a tree of lights on its roof…or the Santa Monica Pier w/ lights strung along both sides…
I HATE East Coast traditions that put pressure on us to conform…blame the advertising agencies on NY’s Madison Avenue…
I hate to sound like a Scrooge, but this is L.A., and I DON’T like traditions that are strictly enforced…
Your take on this, please…
Thanks…
I can’t BELIEVE that NO one wants to answer this question…what gives???
I’ll try to answer this…
I’m a L.A. resident of the old generation who(believe it or not) agrees w/ you on this one!…
Your explanation of the holiday cards you sent out in previous years was right on the ball!…
To me, you are NOT a Scrooge…you’re perfect as is!
Happy holidays(and to the Scrooges in Washington, D.C., go jump over Rudolph’s butt!!!)!!!…

On his 1999 release, Play, he celebrates his faith in a masterful, unobtrusive way, channeling gospel and other inspirational samples through beats so earthy they could grow grass on a cement dance floor. It’s impossible to separate the joy of the message from the joy of the grooves. –Bet… |

Out of Time $3.38 Though R.E.M. titled a later album Monster, this 1991 smash was the true monster, with the little Athens, Georgia, quartet graduating once and for all from its jangling independent-rock roots. The confusion Michael Stipe communicates in the catchy “Losing My Religion” and the dark-and-dreamy “Low” hit the mainstream-rock audience when it was most primed for uneasy angst. (Nirvana’s Nevermind was r… |
