Spa Days Have Evolved

The speed at which technology evolves is quite scary. It seems like only yesterday that we first got TVs and music players, now everything is HD, flat screen, digital and MP4. Most technology we see these days is all about making everything that bit faster, bigger, stronger or more intense. This said, there is one new technology that aims to slow things down, chill us out, and make us feel better.

The virtual spa is a online computer program that aims to simulate the experience of being in a health spa. It has been created by Fusion Gaming in England and it incorporated a full media headset in order to give the most real experience to the user. Your time in the can be spent checking out all the rooms, gardens and facilities, or making some new ones if you like. You can plug your own selection of relaxing music into the game and even book in for a luxurious body polish and massage if you’d like. The game also comes with a vibration pad that attaches to your chair and simulates the feeling of having various different treatments. Other activities include going for a swim, having a sauna and even playing croquet.

According to the developers after playing the game for twenty minutes, you could reduce your heart rate by as much as thirty percent. The suggest market for the game are people who cannot afford to take spa days themselves or people who suffer from tension or stress. They hope that once the game takes off they will be able to start sending out actual skin care products to users so that can complete that spa experience without leaving the house

HENDRIX JIMI VALLEYS OF NEPTUNE…

Are You Experienced

Are You Experienced

$13.98

As emblematic of its time as of its sorcerer-like creator, 1967′s Are You Experienced unleashed Jimi Hendrix onto a world in the midst of such cultural and musical shakeups that it really didn’t seem as “far out” as it actually was. It wasn’t just Hendrix’s virtuosic skill as a pure player that was so impressive; it was, even more, the range and scope of sheer sound that he coaxed, cajoled, and ri…

Blues

$13.98

After the disorganized and often unlistenable Alan Douglas-produced reissues in the ’70s and ’80s, MCA has been releasing the vast Hendrix archives in an intelligent and methodical manner. Blues is a perfect example, making the case that–on top of everything else–Jimi Hendrix was one fine blues guitarist. Combining the fluid lines of B.B. King with the spikiness of Hubert Sumlin and the crying t…

Lost - The Complete Second Season

Lost – The Complete Second Season

$15.47

What was in the Hatch? The cliffhanger from season one of Lost was answered in its opening sequences, only to launch into more questions as the season progressed. That’s right: Just when you say “Ohhhhh,” there comes another “What?” Thankfully, the show’s producers sprinkle answers like tasty morsels throughout the season, ending with a whopper: What caused Oceanic Air Flight 815 to crash in the f…

Lost - The Complete Third Season

Lost – The Complete Third Season

$17.52

When it aired in 2006-07, Lost’s third season was split into two, with a hefty break in between. This did nothing to help the already weirdly disparate direction the show was taking (Kate and Sawyer in zoo cages! Locke eating goop in a mud hut!), but when it finally righted its course halfway through–in particular that whopper of a finale–the drama series had left its irked fan base thrilled onc…

The Simpsons - The Complete Third Season

The Simpsons – The Complete Third Season

$16.84

Broadcast in 1991, the third season of The Simpsons contains a host of candidates for “Best Simpsons Episode Ever.” Homer is in such good form throughout that a reasonable case can be made that he has superseded the importance of his Greek namesake in the annals of culture and civilization. The opener, “Stark Raving Dad,” for instance, features a guest appearance by an uncredited Michael Jackson,…
